Golf is better when Roger Maltbie has a microphone in his hand, and we’ll be getting just that during a handful of events this season.
The legendary broadcaster will be back with Golf Channel, wandering the cliffs of the Monterey Peninsula at this week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He’s also slated to work the Arnold Palmer Invitational, THE PLAYERS, the TOUR’s new Cadillac Championship at Trump Doral, and the Memorial. Plus, thanks to a separate deal with NBC, Maltbie will be out there for the U.S. Open, U.S. Senior Open, Senior PGA Championship, and American Century Championship.

“I’m excited that they still want me to do this, and I guess they feel like I am still someone viewers want to listen to,” Maltbie told Golf Digest. “The bottom line is that I want to keep going because I’m a fan of the game. I watch a good bit of it from home, and I look forward to getting up close and seeing all these new guys and how they play.”
So not only is this week’s field at Pebble loaded with the TOUR’s best thanks to its status as a Signature event, but we get Maltbie on the call. Get me to Thursday.
