With the goal of producing a golf ball model specifically tailored to the needs of junior players, Bridgestone has partnered with the First Tee to create the Electron golf ball—and it comes with a positive message we love.
The golf ball features a two-piece design with a low compression core, making it easier to hit in the air while still providing a soft feel for growing golfers. To go along with the low compression core, the golf ball's dimples have also been optimized with a shallow dimple design to promote a higher ball flight for lower carry.
“The new Electron is an entirely new product for Bridgestone... Designed to help younger players launch the ball more easily and have more fun playing golf. ” Dan Murphy, President of Bridgestone Golf said. "We’re proud to have used our data to develop the Electron specifically to meet the needs of junior players. It’s a privilege to partner with First Tee and DICK’S on this initiative and we’re looking forward to this new golf ball helping juniors play better.”
Beyond function, the Electron also delivers a positive message and creates awareness for the First Tee since each golf ball is also logoed with a base principle of the First Tee program: Kindness, Respect, Honesty, and Character.
“First Tee is dedicated to helping kids build character and develop life skills through golf,” First Tee CEO Greg McLaughlin said. “Partnerships like this create great opportunities to build awareness for First Tee’s mission and further engage kids and teens in the sport."
The new Electron is now available exclusively at DICK’S Sporting Good and Golf Galaxy and is priced at $22 per dozen.
