*In Partnership with Titleist*
Anytime a new driver release comes along, one of the biggest questions is "but how much can you really gain?" and in fairness, the answer is sometimes, not much (that is, if the previous driver was fit properly). But swings change, and golfers inevitably ask the question and head to fittings and see what, if anything, they can gain off the tee. And as someone who covers gear, I'm no different.

Beyond the heads, the final fitting specs are identical, which is why this made for such a great test. It demonstrates why the added adjustable weight track and size (the GTS4 is 460cc) offer added forgiveness and adjustability to fine tune center of gravity.
The end result on average is an extra 1 MPH of ball speed, 200 rpm reduction in spin, 2 yards of carry and 6 total yards. What was even more obvious was how much more consistent my misses were with one example only losing a total of 4 yards of carry.
This is why, when new technologies are combined with new fitting tools and built into driver heads truly segmented to fit various golfers based on their swing dynamics, you get meaningful gains you can bring to the course.
This is why, after I had the opportunity to get fit for a new Titleist GTS driver at TPI in Oceanside, California, we decided to pit it head-to-head against my previously fit Titleist GT. The test was simple - since I was fully warmed up, we hit them back-to-back (more on specs in a moment) to find out what I really gained, and even for me, the results were pretty surprising.
