As fast as driver technology has continued to evolve over the last decade, one thing that hasn’t changed for Cobra, or any manufacturer for that matter, is the hosel adapter. Sure, there have been small tweaks to allow for greater compatibility or to allow fairway woods and hybrids to interact—but that’s about it.
So before we dive into what these new DS-Adapt drivers, fairway woods and hybrids can do for your game - let's break down Cobra’s new FutureFit33 adjustable hosel system.
By Cobra Golf
The new FutureFit33 adapter system featured in the DS-Adapt line (DS representing DarkSpeed, a continuation from the previous models) does what no driver has done before and that is offer 33 individual settings to help golfers get dialed into the right ball flight launch window.
“FUTUREFIT33 is a true breakthrough in metalwood fitting,” said Jose Miraflor, VP of Product Architecture and Consumer Connections at Cobra Puma Golf. “Never before has any hosel system provided 33 unique loft and lie settings that can be adjusted so quickly and easily. 33 settings is more than four times our previous hosel system and more than double our nearest competitor.”
Now I know what you’re probably thinking: 33 settings?!? What the heck am I going to do with 33 settings when I hardly understand adjustable clubs in the first place?
Well the team at Cobra have made this system as simple as possible, and if you’re on the go and can’t quite remember what combination is going to help dial you in, an embedded QR code on the driver automatically brings up the hosel chart in a matter of seconds so you don’t need a photographic memory.
Cobra is able to fit 33 settings (there are technically more settings built into the system, but there is some natural overlap, which is why they can’t claim more) by using a secondary collar around the main adapter piece. This is similar to the systems used by Titleist and Callaway but neither one offers the intricacies of the Cobra.

Now for the deep cut before we get into the drivers. After seeing this for the first time, my immediate thought was: Didn’t Nike golf have a similar yet way more complicated adapter like this with the Flex loft system in their drivers? In fact, they did—but the big difference was that the system was bulkier, which made the clubs less forgiving, and didn't offer as many truly unique settings.
You knew it was only a matter of time before we actually got to the clubs these adapters are used with, and like the FF33 adapter, Cobra is bringing something new with four models to help better fit golfers including a new 10K MOI option.
All four drivers include core Cobra technologies and design attributes including PWRBridge (depending on the model's weighting needs), machine-learning refined HOT variable face thickness, and weight saving carbon crowns and soles.
The core DS-Adapt driver features a refined aerodynamic shape including flush adjustable weights that can be swapped front to back to help tune spin and forgiveness.
Loft availability: 9 and 10.5 degrees in RH and LH
The LS (Low-Spin) driver offers three adjustable weight positions around the head to create extra draw and fade adjustability, and the footprint from address will appeal to golfers who prefer a compact driver. The LS is the lowest spin and most adjustable of the DS-Adapt series.
Loft availability: 9 and 10.5 degrees in RH and LH
This model shape has been tuned to position as much mass in the heel portion of the driver as possible, and by removing the PWR-Bridge from close to the face engineers were able to create an even more draw-biased driver.
Loft availability: 10.5, and 12 degrees in RH and LH
The Max X DS Adapt is built around a shallow and larger profile to push mass as far away from the face and around the perimeter. Like the Max-D, the Max-K also has adjusted internal weighting to place extra mass as far away from the face as possible to booth MOI and make the driver as forgiving as possible.
Loft availability: 9, 10.5, and 12 degrees in RH and LH
All driver models are priced at $550. Stock shafts include the Denali series from True Temper/ProjectX, the Tensei and Vanquish from Mitsubishi, and the Pro series from Fujikura.

To go along with the new drivers, the DS-Adapt fairway woods come in three complementary models; DS-Adapt X, MAX, and LS.
The fairway woods feature the same FutureFit33 adapter, plus HOT face, adaptive internal weighting, and PWR-Bridge. An external design feature which will benefit the entire line is SmartPad on the sole to help the head sit square at address regardless of how the hosel is adjusted for loft and lie.
The fastest and lowest spin model in the new fairway wood line utilizes a titanium body and face construction to save mass and allow designers to place 60 grams of tungsten low in the head (34 grams of nonadjustable weight and 26 grams of adjustable weight).
The more exotic materials and construction make the LS fairway come in at $429 each.
Loft availability: 14.5, 16, and 17.5 degrees
For golfers who are looking for the best combination of speed, forgiveness and versatility, the X model is going to be a big winner. With a slightly shallower profile than the LS and a mid-forward PWR-Bridge to create ideal launch condition it’s playable for the majority of golfers.
Loft availability: 15.5, 16.5, 18, and 21 degrees
For golfers needing a bit more help and draw bias the DS Adapt Max offers adjustable weights to create extra draw bias or extreme stability. The Max offers the most shallow profile of the new DS-Adapt fairway woods and also includes one of the very few adjustable 9-woods on the market!
Loft availability: 15.5, 18.5, 21, and 24.5 degrees
As for price the DS-Adapt X and Max models, they’re priced at $329 each.

To complete the new DS-Adapt series, the hybrids offer many of the same technology features as the fairway woods including - most importantly - the FurureFit33 adapter, adaptive weighting, and HOT Face.
To help add forgiveness to the hybrids, they also feature a slightly larger footprint than the previous DarkSpeed to offer extra forgiveness along with less spin and ball flight variation.
All COBRA DS-ADAPT products will be available for fitting and pre-sale on December 12th , 2024, and will be available at retail and online on January 10th, 2025. For more information, visit cobragolf.com
