Sorry for the stray Khaled (we still love you), but Noah Kahan is taking over as golf's go-to music guy. This week Kahan's rendition of the iconic "Georgia On My Mind" was rolled out as a part of the ESPN/Masters annual hype campaign leading up to one of the best weeks in golf.
It's a more indie take on and a strong departure from the classic Ray Charles version, but we're digging that one of the most tradition-oriented entities in golf has branched out and gotten with the times.
In an interview with Marketing Brew, Rachel Epstein, ESPN's VP of live sports and audience expansion, explained how this move was intentional.
“We’re always going to be fairly traditional and reverent in terms of how we visually showcase the tournament," Epstein said. "But just knowing that the Masters—certainly Augusta National and ESPN—are constantly looking to engage and reach younger audiences, music just felt like this important and powerful device that we could use…to engage and be relevant with younger audiences.”
Kahan is in his breakout era and an easy fan-fav for the younger generation...well played!
Apart from this newly released cover for the Masters, Kahan has also been all over the place in terms of his golf content game (in the best way).
We've seen him screen-side at TGL, along with fellow singer Niall Horan. The two-time Grammy nominated artist joined the Boston Common as an investor, joining Horan, Fenway Sports Group, and Rory McIlroy’s Symphony Ventures in the endeavor.
TGL's inaugural season just wrapped, and for season two, we're all for Kahan and co. to take a couple of swings.

But wait—there's more!
Kahan has also guest-starred in a Good Good video, played a round at TPC Sawgrass, and seems to take every opportunity he can to work on his game in between concerts and other gigs.
We want—no we need more Noah Kahan content this stick season!
