At the top of the new year, the LPGA plans to make adjustments to its ranking calculations.
In a new announcement, the Tour revealed the decision to make the Rolex World Rankings more inclusive to introduce more players into the system—most notably for players on tours with a lower strength of field (SOF).
Starting in January, all players who make a cut in a WWGR event will receive rankings points regardless of the strength of field. In the current points structure, the number of players receiving rankings points in any given field was determined by the SOF. These SOF's will now have their own unique points distribution, and will be handled based on the number of players competing.
The announcement also included the addition of the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT) to the rankings. The WAPT is the 13th tour to be included in the rankings. Established in 2019, The ANNIKA WAPT has provided a direct path to the Epson Tour, with the top two weekly finishers receiving exemptions into selected Epson Tour events. In 2025 the tour staged 12 events and will expand to 13 in 2026.
The Rolex World Ranking system launched in 2006 as the first-ever comprehensive world rankings system for women’s golf, and two decades later will now comprise of the following tours:
