HOUSTON, Texas — The LPGA Tour couldn't have asked for a better start to its majors season than Nelly Korda catching fire at Memorial Park.
The early portion of the week was dominated by aqua-centered headlines. Between the heavy rain and the new pool featured added to keep the Poppie's Pond tradition alive—but as the weekend rolls around, everyone's attention has rightfully shifted to the incredible play being exhibited. And leading the way is none other than the World No. 2.

It was yet another near-flawless day for Korda, who kicked it into second-gear to take a commanding lead over the rest of the field. En route to taking the 36-hole clubhouse lead, Korda only missed two fairways all day and was 14 of 18 in greens in regulation.
"What's challenging about playing with the lead is you have a target on your back in a sense, but also I just like enjoy it. I enjoy golf," said Korda after her second round. "I think this year I just wanted to have a different mindset change of if I get into trouble, I'll figure it out. Not like you look at something and, excuse my French, and say I'm fucked. You know, there are times where I've had that and now I'm like, I'll figure it out. So that's my biggest takeaway from last year and the years before."
I love a good F-bomb in a major presser, that doesn't have a negative connotation. It only speaks to how comfortable and at ease Korda is this week. This course is set up to reward her game style and it's showing.
"I'm comfortable with my game. I'm also very comfortable. I think where I'm the most comfortable is definitely with my mindset of knowing when I mess up I'll figure it out; trying to have that ease."
