Meet the Top-Ranked Amateur Who Just Signed with TaylorMade

What does a 16-year-old amateur have in common with world No.1s Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda? Equipment.

TaylorMade Golf just announced the signing of top-ranked junior Asterisk Talley as the newest member of the brand's family. Fresh off victories at the AJGA Fortinet Stanford Invitational and ANNIKA Junior Invitational, Talley is quickly cementing herself as the standout junior to watch this year.

With all eyes on players like Luke Canton, who's dominating the men's college scene and securing his tour card already, Talley is stealth-fully making her mark in the women's game—collecting milestones that feel reminiscent of what we saw from Rose Zhang just a couple of years ago.

We saw Talley's name rise to stardom at last year's U.S. Women's Open where she tied for low amateur at the notoriously difficult Lancaster Country Club (famously Nelly Korda made a 10 on the par-3 12th). The junior golfer charmed us all when she candidly admitted during a post-round interview on the Golf Channel that she had quite a lot of homework to do, despite making the cut.

Asterisk, which means "Little Star" in Greek, is certainly living up to her name. Her impressive resume includes:

• 2024 runner-up at U.S. Women’s Amateur

• 2024 runner-up at U.S. Girls Junior

• Member of U.S. National Junior Team

• Tied for 8th in the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur

• 2024 Invitational at Sage Valley champion

• 2024 AJGA PING Invitational champion

• Tied for 9th in 2024 Hilton Grand Vacations Annika Invitational

• 2023 American Junior Golf Association Rolex Girl’s champion

• 2023 Curtis Cup and Junior Solheim Cup team member

• First-Team American Junior Golf Association All-American in 2023

• Runner-up in Girls 7-9 Division of 2018 Drive, Chip and Putt; finalist in 12-13 Division in 2022

Accomplishment aside, Talley seems to be young star with a good head on her shoulders, which is why TaylorMade sought her out.

Talley will tee it up in the sixth annual Augusta National Women's Amateur in a couple of weeks. She will be making her second ANWA start, she finished inside the top 10 in her debut last year.
