If you’re a football fan, odds are you’ve seen Hard Knocks or NFL Films. In all of sports, they’re some of the best pieces of content fans get all year long. The mic’d-up moments, the behind-the-scenes intel—so, so good.
On Tuesday night, PGA TOUR fans got something pretty damn close.
Chasing Sunday dropped at 9 p.m. ET, a project from the TOUR and NFL Films. It follows Akshay Bhatia, Rickie Fowler, Chris Gotterup, and Si Woo Kim during last week’s PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass. All four players were mic’d up for all four rounds of the TOUR’s biggest event.
Now that’s the good stuff.
We got a little teaser earlier in the day—Bhatia and his caddie, Joe Greiner, going back and forth on what to hit into the Island Green. It lasted a few minutes and was awesome. But the full one-hour special? It’s that times ten. This thing absolutely rocked.
Collin Morikawa’s WD
Obviously it sucked that the No. 4 player in the world had to call it quits after one hole, but because he was in Kim’s group, we got a raw, real-time look at how everyone processed it. Morikawa couldn’t believe it, and Ludvig Aberg and Kim were basically at a loss for words. Instant drama.
Greiner on Sawgrass’ difficulty
With the wind and the firm conditions that showed up later in the week, Sawgrass was a monster. It beat the crap out of those guys. And Greiner, Bhatia’s caddie, wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I love it when it plays this fucking hard. God, I love it,” he said. “I think it puts so much value on making a par and not getting frustrated and forcing it. There’s more value in being smart and patient.”
That mindset rules—and honestly, it’s what fans want too. Watching the best players in the world grind is way more compelling than a 30-under birdie fest. It’s a big reason why THE PLAYERS delivers every year.
Fowler and Jordan Spieth nerd out
On Friday, Fowler and Spieth walked down 18 together, debating the perfect club off the tee. Hearing them get into the weeds on a spinny mini-driver versus a spinny 3-wood—how it changes distance, position, everything—was a true sicko moment. Could’ve listened to that for an hour.

Brooks Koepka and the no-yardage-book life
Bhatia and Greiner were stunned when they realized Koepka doesn’t use a yardage book.
“Oh, he doesn’t even have the book. I love it,” Greiner said. “That’s how I think I would play best. Doesn’t even have one. That is remarkable.”
Kim and Scottie Scheffler’s bromance
Kim got paired with the World No. 1 on Saturday, and the two had a great exchange on the first tee. They both live in Dallas and play together a bunch, so Ted Scott (Scheffler’s caddie) asked if they were besties.
“We’re not friends,” Scheffler joked.
“He don’t accept it,” Kim fired back.
The whole segment was awesome—and a good reminder of how comfortable (and funny) some of these pairings really are.
Main takeaway (outside of the fact I want one of these for every big event)
Every amateur golfer should listen to what Joe Greiner says to Bhatia. There’s a reason he’s one of the best loopers in the world—he knows exactly what to say, when to say it, and how to keep things steady. What a get for the 24-year-old.
If you haven’t watched Chasing Sunday yet, carve out an hour today and just throw it on. You’ll enjoy every second.
