It Looks Like TGL's First Expansion Team Could Come Sooner Rather than Later

We could see a new team join TGL for the league's second season.

Last month, TMRW Sports CEO and co-founder Mike McCarley said that when the TGL expands, the process would “start with one (new team) and then it’ll grow from there.”

Well, it looks like the process is underway as the indoor simulator league has filed a trademark for “Motor City Golf Club.”

This would be the league’s seventh squad joining Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links GC, Los Angeles GC, New York GC, and The Bay GC.

At the end of TGL’s debut season, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, and Lucas Glover of Atlanta Drive took home the title after beating the NYGC in the finals.

Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Sam Burns, Will Zalatoris, Akshay Bhatia, and Tony Finau are just some of the PGA TOUR stars who have yet to join the league. Adding any of them would be a huge get for TGL in its second season.
