On Father’s Day, Joe Russell, Miles Russell’s dad, made a memory he’s going to have for the rest of his life.
Miles, who was even par through 17 holes on Sunday, had his dad slip on a caddie bib to pull looper duties for the final hole of the 17-year-old’s U.S. Open debut. That, folks, is the good stuff.
Miles, the seventh ranked amateur in the world, finished the week 7 over at Shinnecock Hills. He got into the year’s third major championship via final qualifying, and had Charlie Woods on the bag for Golf’s Longest Day.
A special moment and a special week for the entire Russell family.
