Bay Hill is a BEAST. It punched these guys in the face from the jump and didn’t let up until they signed their cards—I’m sure some guys were even tossing and turning Thursday night thinking about this place.
The Arnold Palmer Invitational has once again produced a stellar leaderboard with some of the game’s biggest names right near the top. Shane Lowry is alone in front at 8 under and two shots ahead of Wyndham Clark, who had a bit of a rules controversy on Day 2. Collin Morikawa (5 under), Rory McIlroy (4 under), Jason Day (4 under), Keegan Bradley (3 under), and Justin Thomas (3 under) are all inside the top 10.
On the other hand, several stars struggled. So much so that they were part of the small group trunk slamming on Friday afternoon—the API is one of the few signature events that features a 36-hole cut, just how Arnie would want it.

The struggles continue for Homa, as this is his third missed cut in a row. We’ll see if a few extra days off are enough to get the train back on the tracks.
Lee got into the field via sponsor exemption and had a great chance to make the weekend before two double bogeys in his last four holes on Friday.

Since a T-7 finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Kim has tied for 44th twice at the WM Phoenix Open and Genesis Invitational, and now he misses the weekend at Bay Hill. He made the cut in 2023 and 2024 in his only two starts at the API, but both were outside the top 30.
Some other names include Akshay Bhatia (8 over), Maverick McNealy (9 over), Billy Horschel (9 over), and Nick Dunlap (10 over).
