I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty tired of hearing about productive meetings and mutual desires to bring the game back together. The PGA TOUR and LIV Golf League have been dancing together for nearly two years since they agreed to reunite the sport and no progress has been made. Golfweek’s Eamon Lynch reported that the most recent meeting at the White House “didn’t go as well as Tour executives had hoped.”
Wake me up when the best players in the world can go head-to-head more than four times a year.
But Brooks Koepka’s recent appearance at the SoFi Center got me thinking: are we getting close?

Sure Koepka could’ve been sitting at his house in Jupiter, bored out of his mind and decided to head down the road to watch his buddies. But this is really the first time we’ve seen a player from one side mingle with the other at one of their events.
I don’t remember Jordan Spieth or Scottie Scheffler rooting on the Cleeks at LIV’s Team Championship in Dallas last November.
The five-time major champion’s contract with the league funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund reportedly runs its course at the end of 2025. Could he slowly be making his way back into the TOUR’s fold?
There aren’t many players on Earth that can compete with Koepka’s aura when he arrives at a golf course, especially during major championship weeks. That’s an asset I’m sure golf fans and decision-makers would love to have back.
Again, this could all be a reach. But what if it’s not?
The first time everyone will be one big happy family again is at the Masters in April. Hopefully we have a better understanding of what the future holds when the golf world arrives at Augusta National in less than six weeks—I came real close to a fist pump when I realized we’re that close to returning to golf Heaven.
