Jeeno Thitikul's Win at Mizuho Felt Inevitable

No one has been playing better, more consistent golf than Thitikul—and it finally paid off.

We're just gonna leave this here.

We said it a couple months ago, but we'll say it again and with a little more emphasis—Jeeno Thitikul is the best player on the LPGA Tour right now. With her consistency (204-under par is insane!!!), and unbelievable accuracy, it's honestly shocking that the 22-year-old hasn't won more.

Thitikul has been on a heater since the end of last summer, dating back to the FM Championship in August 2024, which was the start of her top-10 streak that ended in March 2025 (she had 10 consecutive top-10s and 32 consecutive rounds under par).

Just know, when you tune in to watch just about any tournament, her name is on that leaderboard. And this past weekend at the Mizuho Americas Open at Liberty National was no different—no one was catching Jeeno.

With shots like this, she as able to fend off a fairly stacked leaderboard that included world No.1 and defending champ Nelly Korda, major champion Celine Boutier, Andrea Lee, and Yealimi Noh, who captured her first career win earlier this season.

En route to victory, Thitikul went bogey-free over the final 27 holes, including a 3-under 69 final round to finish four shots clear of Boutier. With a commanding, 17-under par win, the young star from Thailand also set the 54-hole tournament scoring record with her three-day 202 and the 72-hole tournament scoring record with her winning score of 271.

After her win, she was asked how she felt holding off such strong competition—and Jeeno responded like a true pro. "Yeah, definitely it feels good to get the job done here," said Thitikul. "I know so many talented players in front of me. Also in my group I have Celine [Boutier]. In front of me we've got Nelly Korda, which is No. 1 in the world. But I feel like everyone is just doing their part. I'm doing my own part, too. I can't control them. I just can control myself. I just have to do my job. I think if I win or not, I'm just doing my job, doing my process. I'm happy for that."

If you go through her results page on her LPGA bio, you'll notice one little outlier—the Chevron Championship. It was a tough week in Houston for the Thai player who felt out of sorts with her flatstick. She credited tough pin locations and conditions, but knew she had to find a solution. But she didn't change her equipment, she just kept working on it.

Thitikul averaged 28 putts per round at Mizuho improving by a stroke and a half from Chevron.

This certainly will get her back on track and trending in the right direction with the U.S. Women's Open at Erin Hills just a couple weeks away. Thitikul is still in search of her first major win.

She closed her winning presser with, "It just feels like, yeah, win definitely feels good, but I think second is also good, too. Third is also good, too. It's not just like I have to win. But I know I want to win, but not like needing it to -- each tournament, because all the positions or all what I have been doing out there, I create more, like, value of it, and that's all my perspective on that."

With a mindset like this—it seems inevitable that Thitikul's resume will be decorated more wins, majors included, and sooner rather than later.
