We Need Cameras at the Seminole Pro-Member, the FOMO is Too Much to Handle

With a field including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas, it’s time we televise this dream event in Juno Beach.

Remember when you weren’t invited to that one party in high school that all your buddies went to, but you were stuck at home playing Scrabble with your family? “That never happened to me!” Stop lying to yourself, pal, it’s been 15 years.

Well, it’s happening again on Monday.

The best players in the world are in Juno Beach, Florida, for the Seminole Pro-Member. If you have no clue what that is, it’s a high-profile event that annually attracts one of the best fields of the year.

And yes, we mean that. It’s right up there with all the major championships. Don’t believe us? Well, I guess I’ll lay out some names and you can decide for yourself.

As for PGA TOUR stars, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Rickie Fowler, Luke Clanton, Sungjae Im, Adam Scott, Keegan Bradley, Matt Fitzpatrick, Akshay Bhatia, Cameron Young and Nick Dunlap are just some of the names on the tee sheet. World No. 1 Nelly Korda and her sister Jessica are there, too. And that doesn’t even include a long list of notable celebrities like the GOAT himself, Mr. Tom Brady.

Plus, the golf course is fantastic. Actually, that might be the understatement of the year. In 2023, Golfweek ranked it as the 12th best classic golf course—built before 1960—in the United States. That same year, Golf Digest ranked it as the 10th-best course in America. So, we’re talking about a track that’s in the same conversation as Augusta National, Cypress Point and Pine Valley that we almost never get to see.

Each and every year the golf world suffers from an incredible amount of FOMO when the field is announced and the results start to flow in, and I’m sick of it.

It’s time we get some cameras down to Seminole and televise this dream event for golf sickos everywhere.

We’ve seen Donald Ross’ masterpiece on TV a few times over the last five or so years. It hosted the TaylorMade Driving Relief event in 2020 that featured McIlroy, Fowler, Dustin Johnson and Matthew Wolff and raised money for COVID-19. A year later, it hosted the Walker Cup.

I don’t even need a broadcast team. I don’t want to change the environment of the Pro-Member at all. Because, let’s be honest, anyone who has played in a Member-Guest over the years knows that the drinks flow, trash talk rains from everywhere and they’re some of the best days on the calendar for golfers. I still want these guys to have an awesome day.

I just wanna watch.

Hide a few cameras in a couple palm trees, fly a couple drones over the course, put a GoPro in every cart. I really don’t care how it gets done, I just can’t deal with missing this event again.

I doubt we’ll ever get to watch it—I’m just protecting myself from disappointment—but one can dream.
