I'll Just Keep Talking About Jason Day Until Someone Else Steps Up

It's gonna get old, real fast, I know. But this is what I care about the most, you guys. All of the players on the PGA TOUR are gonna impress me with their play each week—every single one of them, full stop. These Guys Are Good and admiring their shotmaking as been one of the highlights of my life.

What these guys are Not Good at, typically, is gettin' capital-D Dressed. I get it, a vast majority of these guys don't actually give a shit. I think that's OK. The PGA TOUR isn't supposed to be a fashion show, first and foremost, but I think there are plenty of guys on TOUR with enough sensibility that I shouldn't have to mine so hard for Good Fits. (Side note to my friends at Getty, can we get someone on Keith Mitchell at all times? I'd love to be able to point out that you don't need to go Streetwear to get onto the style radar 'round here.

I digress—Jason Day wore a short-sleeved jacket from Malbon's Preserve collection on Wednesday during his practice round. And not only was it by far the most interesting look on the course, it's a reminder that this is golf, a unique place where short-sleeved outerwear can shine, and especially so when it's not your classic short-sleeved quarter-zipped wind shirt.

We love those, because the '90s, but Day's selection is how the modern iteration of it looks and feels.

I'll give y'all a bone on this one—it's pricey given the actual square footage of fabric on this one. But there's a reason Day tends to lean toward Malbon's Preserve jawns. It's among their more premium collections, and clearly Jason Day notices the difference in quality from your standard golf gear.

If you're not in the market for $400 short-sleeved outerwear, take from this moment the lesson that there's more out there than the only short-sleeved, cold-and-wet condition-ready windshirt I know you're picturing in your head reading that phrase.
