U.S. Amateur champion Jose Luis Ballester had the pleasure of playing alongside defending Masters champion Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas on Thursday, but it didn’t go all that great.
He bogeyed Nos. 1 and 3 before a tough triple at the impossible par-4 fifth. After a birdie on six, he made the turn in 4-over 40. On the second nine, he traded a bogey at No. 11 for a birdie on No. 12 and made six pars coming home to sign for a 4-over 76.
But that wasn’t the worst part of his day.
This guy took a pee in Rae’s Creek while wearing one of those terrbile upside down letter hats—kinda surprised Augusta National let him in wearing that thing. Here’s what he had to say about peeing in the “river.”
Just a couple tough looks for the U.S. Am winner.
