With her win at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions earlier this month, Nelly Korda is now just seven points shy of qualifying for the LPGA Tour's Hall of fame.
In order to be considered entry into the HOF, a player must accumulate 27 total points. The Tour awards one point for each LPGA official tournament win, one point for Vare Trophy (lowest scoring average for a season) or Rolex Player of the Year award. Two points are awarded for each major victory, and one point is given for an Olympic gold medal.
How a player gets to that lucky 27 number doesn't matter, but it is required of them to have won or been awarded an LPGA major, the Vare Trophy or Rolex Player of the Year honors.
In Korda's case, she has 16 career wins, including 2 major titles, she was the 2024 Rolex Player of the Year, and she won gold at the 2020 (2021) Tokyo Olympics—totally out to 20 points. It's very possible that we could see Korda join the illustrious group sooner rather than later.
Lydia Ko was the most recent player to play her way into the HOF, doing so in 2024 when she captured gold at the Paris Olympics. She became the 35th player to earn enough LGPA HOF points.
