The final stop of the PGA TOUR’s Florida Swing is over a couple of days early for some of the biggest names in the game. Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course showed its fangs throughout the first two rounds, and blustery conditions didn’t help the situation.
While stars like Xander Schauffele, Shane Lowry, and Viktor Hovland headline the top of the leaderboard, Sam Burns and Jake Knapp are just a few of the notables trunk slammin’ on a Friday afternoon. With the Masters approaching quickly on the horizon, these boys have to get it together—fast.
The 36-hole cut at the Valspar Championship came in at 2-over 144.

Burns won back-to-back Valspar titles in 2021 and 2022 but has now missed the cut at two straight appearances. Since a tie for eighth at The Sentry, Burns has failed to post a top-20 finish this season.
Jake Knapp (74-77, +9)

This missed cut came outta left field for Knapp. He was playing some great golf throughout the Florida Swing, finishing T-6 at the Cognizant Classic and T-12 at THE PLAYERS Championship. This was his tournament debut and he put some big scores on the card. Just too much to overcome for Knapp.
Cameron Young (76-75, +9)

It’s been an ugly start to the year for Young. Yes, he finished T-8 at The Sentry and T-12 at the WM Phoenix Open, but in his other six starts coming into the week, he missed four cuts and failed to finish inside the top 60 at the other two. Now, he misses another weekend.
Nicolai Hojgaard (70-76, +4)

Hojgaard played steady on Thursday, firing a 1-under 71. He could have afforded a 73 on Friday, but he was three worse at 76 and is packing up a few days early. The world No. 73 also missed the cut at THE PLAYERS last week.
Karl Vilips (74-75, +7)

Vilips has been making some noise out on TOUR over the last month or so after signing with Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red and winning at the Puerto Rico Open. He was rewarded with tee times alongside Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, but his good momentum stalled at Copperhead with rounds of 74-75.
